Lewis Reid-Snowbridge Bull Tahr New Zealand

About Lewis

Lewis was born in October 1957 and reared on the family farm near the village of Woodenbong. In 1991, Lewis relocated with his wife Robyn and two young children to Barraba in North Western New South Wales. After almost 30 years in the region, it was time to take up where they left off, and settle back in their home town of  Woodenbong. An inborn love of the outdoors and an adventurous spirit has seen him live an incredibly full and active life. By the age of 16, his weekends were not only taken up with walking the hills with a rifle slung over his shoulder, he regularly participated in full bore target rifle shooting using a full wood .303 rifle at the Urbenville Rifle Range and clay target shooting at the Warwick Gun Club.

Through the late 1970's dingo hunting, rugby league, rock climbing, abseiling and trekking were what mostly occupied this adventurers spare time. However, it was in 1982 that two events changed Lewis' life immeasurably. Firstly he married Robyn and then on their honeymoon in New Zealand, by a stroke of luck Lewis met well-respected New Zealand hunting identity Allan Harrison.

Lewis' fascination for wildlife, his inborn desire to hunt and the chance meeting with a man that was destined to become one of his mentors, laid the foundation for why Lewis wanted to become a true hunter. His journey has seen him travel far and wide; the path he has taken has had many twists and turns, it's the origin of a dream that he would one day take the South Pacific 15.

He has cut-trail, wrangled horses and hunted his way through the rugged Rocky Mountains  of British Columbia, he has been a hunting guide in New Zealand for a number of years. Most noteworthy of all, is the fact that he is still married to the same beautiful wife and still has that burning desire to want to get up into the mountains and hunt the animals he loves.

Lewis has compiled almost 23 years of hunting adventures into his new beautifully presented book 'I Did It my Way - The South Pacific 15', a must read for all avid hunters.
